So I read about lowering settings in the CFG file in steam/steamapps/common/Medievil II Total War. Yet that only played game in left hand corner window mode. Searched the web for hours and all that would run it, was using compatibility mode in shortcut properties. From now on, you should be able to launch the game without any issues. From there, you can go in and select your optimal settings for the game. Select that option and choose to 'test program.' If it works, then it should launch the game immediately without any error. Follow the instructions and allow Windows (I'm running 8.1) to find a solution, it should recommend an option for running the game with Windows Vista (32 bit) compatibility.
